Telephone Befriending

Many of our service users could benefit considerably through having someone to talk to. You will be matched to between one and three unpaid carers who have indicated that they are interested in being paired with a Telephone Befriending Volunteer  to talk to, as well as taking a break from their caring responsibilities.

By volunteering for Carers Network you have the chance to join a winning team, gain a workplace reference and support the most socially isolated carers.
You will be matched to between one and three unpaid carers who have indicated that they are interested in being paired with a Telephone Befriending Volunteer  Doing something truly rewarding by offering companionship to a carer and enhancing their emotional wellbeing Mentoring the unpaid carer by providing a listening ear, and someone new to talk to Working closely with the Volunteer Development Officer to engage in regular supervision to ensure carers are supported. You and the carer will both call in to the telephone conference call and the same date and time and enter a pin- you will not be expected to use your own telephone.

Core services include:Information - carers are offered an initial assessment and information about carers rights through to a Statutory Carers Assessment.
Specialist Support: We have an enhanced level of support, which may involve more in-depth casework, and advocacy.
Counselling Service: Carers are offered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy sessions by a qualified and experienced therapist. And much more!
