Can you help the Library's computer users to use their computers more effectively?
Are you passionate about IT and helping people?
Tri-Borough Libraries and Arts Service is running sessions in Kensington Central library to help people resolve particular computer issues they might have. They can book 1 hour slots to resolve issues such as working with attachments, organising their files. Supporting users with printing, downloading files, scanning documents, email set up, word processing skills, completing online forms, performing a basic searches using search engines and social media platforms.
You will need basic knowledge of computer applications to be able to resolve their queries. If they need further support you will be able to signpost them to other volunteers or other Borough services.
Skills and qualifications:
•Good customer service and communication skills
•Ability to demonstrate patience and ability to improve confidence and to motivate and encourage learners to continue developing their skills
•Ability to work with people from various backgrounds and age groups
•Ability to deliver one-to-one and group sessions
This role involves working with people in the library who are interested in improving their IT skills. You will work from computers dedicated to training activities
Commitment: Monday to Saturday, 2-4 hrs p/w average
