Volunteer Car Scheme Driver

Do you enjoy driving? you can use your own vehicle in the Westway Community Car Scheme, we also have a few designated smaller vehicles in our overall fleet. Two of these cars are wheelchair accessible so that we can offer this service to members who cannot transfer from a wheelchair to a car seat.
The Scheme provides door-to-door transport for its disabled and elderly members who find it difficult or impossible to use public transport.
You will help them by:
> Planning your routes to their destinations;
> Giving assistance in and out of vehicle;
> Escorting to the building and perhaps helping with shopping;
> Above all, putting their safety and comfort first.

Isolation can be really dispiriting for a vulnerable person; being helped to get out and about can make a big difference to their quality of life.
