At Carers Network we are looking to recruit a Health and Wellbeing Volunteer to support unpaid carers in a physical and emotional capacity through wellbeing interventions. Caring for a friend of family member brings about many challenges, such as social isolation through not being able to commit to either education, employment or social opportunities. This new role incorporates a myriad of different elements that focuses on the wellbeing of the unpaid carer.
The Role: -You may wish to get in touch with your spiritual side and deliver group sessions on mindfulness and mediation.
-Cooking for carers at social events, lunch clubs, or even leading a cookery session for carers.
-Facilitating singing, dance or music-based groups.
-If you have a fascination or affiliation to theatre of performing arts, you could deliver drama workshops.
-Leading activities and games sessions, such as chess, mini golf, bingo, backgammon, draughts, dominos and scrabble.
-Providing complementary therapies, such as Pilates, yoga, massage, reiki or group exercise.
-Facilitating a walking group, Walk and Talk. -The role may include facilitating museum of theatre trips for carers.
