Scientist in Residence

At Bevington Primary School we are looking for a volunteer with a passion or background in Science to help run and maintain our brand new STEM Centre (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). This is a perfect opportunity for someone with a background in Science (or any STEM field) who has retired, or a student looking for opportunities to work in a school environment.
Our new Centre has just opened, and houses a purpose-built science laboratory with specialist resources and equipment. Working alongside our Science Lead, our volunteer would help maintain this space, as well as supporting in lessons to help inspire the next generations of STEM professionals!
We are looking for someone who will: - Take ownership and pride of our Science Lab - Sort, maintain and catalogue our selection of resources
- Advise teachers and support them with resourcing and preparing lessons
- Work with children and help to inspire them during STEM lessons
- Come with lots of enthusiasm and new ideas! Hours are dependent on the needs of the individual, but would need to be during the school day.
A commitment of at least two afternoons / mornings per week would be preferred.
