Volunteer Driver

Do you value your ability to go out where and when you like?
Some older people are severely restricted in how much they can get out and about, as for a variety of reasons they may not be able to use public transport. Therefore Age UK's aim is to maintain the independence of their clients by arranging shopping trips and social outings. These become an important part of users' weekly routines.
Age UK provides the minibuses but needs willing and able volunteers to drive them. Naturally, as well as being able to drive the minibuses volunteers must want to develop some rapport with the users.
>Training in accordance with MIDAS is offered to volunteers.
>The minimum commitment is two hours per week.
>We welcome volunteers who speak other languages: Spanish, Italian, French, Arabic & Farsi,
>COVID-19 measures are in place.
