Stepping Stones is our programme for disabled people, people living with long-term health conditions, and people with special educational needs, supporting them to work towards their own goals, at their own pace.
We work alongside our clients to overcome barriers to wellbeing, build confidence, develop skills, and strengthen connections. Whether someone wants to feel more connected, improve their wellbeing, give back to their community, explore work, or a combination of these, we help them find a path that works for them.
Why Stepping Stones?
You may have known us as the Wellbeing Programme. We’ve given the programme a new name and identity because we wanted something more memorable that better reflects how we work with you.
We chose Stepping Stones because progress doesn’t look the same for everyone. One person’s next step might be meeting new people. For someone else, it might be volunteering, learning a new skill, building confidence or moving towards employment.
Our role is to help people chart their own journey, one step at a time — recognising where they are now, where they want to go, and what support can help them get there.
What We Do:
Stepping Stones offers our clients a safe, supportive ecosystem to grow, through 1-to-1 support and in small groups, alongside a network of local partners.
We help our clients:
- Build confidence and independence by trying new things and overcoming barriers at a pace that feels right.
- Improve wellbeing through activities and opportunities that support healthier, happier lives, from poetry and yoga to gardening and creative activities.
- Build connection and belonging by meeting people, making friends and getting involved with local social activities.
- Discover purpose and find meaningful ways to contribute, participate and give back.
- Develop a rhythm or routine, get used to regular work, responsibility and collaboration.
- Move towards employment when someone feels ready.
Our workshops and activities are in small, friendly groups, where there is always a chance to chat. Explore all of our activities here.
We help partner organisations
