In April, we wrapped up our Volunteers Market Ambassador programme on Portobello and Golborne Road Markets, and what a journey it’s been!
From greeting visitors and sharing local insights to celebrating milestones like Votes for Women and the Portobello Film Festival, our ambassadors brought warmth, pride, and community spirit to every Saturday on the market.
Though the programme is currently on pause, we’re hopeful to return again soon, supporting the community we love in new and meaningful ways.
In the meantime, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this programme such a success – from our brilliant volunteers to our local partners, like the Street Trading Office, and the residents and visitors who stopped to chat, ask for directions, or simply share a smile.
We’ll see you again soon. Until then, the spirit of the markets lives on in all of us!
