Many people in Kensington and Chelsea struggle with digital exclusion—without access to a device or the internet, everyday tasks like job applications, schoolwork, and staying in touch become incredibly difficult. The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council has partnered with the Digital Poverty Alliance to collect, refurbish, and redistribute unused devices to residents, students, and families who need them most.
Why It Matters
In the UK, 1 in 7 adults and 1 in 5 children lack digital access. In Kensington and Chelsea alone, around 12,000 residents face digital exclusion. By donating your old device, you’re helping to bridge this gap and ensure that no one in our community is left behind.
How to Donate
The council has set up multiple donation points across the borough, making it easy to drop off your laptop, tablet, or phone (please note, desktops and accessories can’t be accepted). See the full list of donation locations here.
For bulk donations or business contributions, you can reach out to RBKC’s Digital Inclusion Team at email hidden; JavaScript is required to arrange the best way to contribute.
Note: Before handing over your device, make sure to back up and wipe your data to keep your personal information secure. The council provides simple steps to ensure a safe donation process.
