Celebrating Volunteers’ Week 2025: Thank You for Making a Difference

It’s Volunteers’ Week, and we’re taking a moment to shine a light on the incredible people who give their time, energy, and heart to support others in Kensington & Chelsea and beyond.

Whether you’re helping at a local event, mentoring a young person, supporting a community group, or lending a hand behind the scenes, we hope you know that your contribution matters.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our borough. You bring people together, create moments of connection, and help build a stronger, kinder community.

Why Volunteering Matters

  • Over 14 million people in the UK volunteer at least once a year
  • Volunteers contribute an estimated £18 billion to the UK economy (NCVO)
  • People who volunteer report higher levels of wellbeing, purpose, and connection
  • One small act of kindness can ripple out and change someone’s day — or their life

This week is about celebrating all of that and more.

What’s On This Week

We’ll be sharing:

  • Free training opportunities
  • Local volunteering success stories
  • Ways to get involved (whether you’re new to volunteering or ready to try something new)
  • Behind-the-scenes snapshots of the people who make it all happen

Stay Connected

We’ll be sharing updates all week long, including new opportunities, events, and highlights from across Kensington & Chelsea, so make sure you’re following us on Instagram and checking our website!

Thank you to every single volunteer who gives their time to support others. We appreciate you, this week and every week.

Happy Volunteers’ Week! 💜
