I volunteer because I want to do something productive during my spare time and to be part of an organisation that is concerned about people’s safety and wellbeing.
As an Ambassador volunteer, I assist tourists to navigate the local area, helping with stewarding, queries and distributing leaflets. What I like most about volunteering with the Volunteer Centre is the time flexibility, having common goals, and building new or lasting friendships. With the camaraderie of the volunteering group, it is easy to accomplish tasks, and time really flies.
Volunteering enhances your skills. You can contribute and make a difference to the community. It is a way of philanthropy, giving your time and service freely.
