A long-time Kensington resident, I initially approached the Volunteer Centre as I was seeking to participate in voluntary action in my local area and had heard good things about VCKC.
I was first recruited to take the minutes at Board meetings and so enjoyed working with everyone that I applied to join the Board when the opportunity arose. I became Chair some 3 years ago but my involvement with the Centre was already an important part of my life before that.
I find my volunteering at the Centre varied and fun, sometimes challenging but always rewarding because every day I see the difference the Volunteer Centre is making in people’s lives.
