A volunteer agreement is a document that acts as a point of reference for volunteers and for organisations to meet their standards of best practice for volunteering.
This agreement is a means of highlighting your organisation’s commitment to providing a rewarding and productive volunteering experience that is of mutual benefit to both the organisation and the volunteer.
It is important that you use the word ‘Agreement’ and never the word ‘Contract’, as this agreement is not intended to be legally binding.
Do these Volunteer Agreements need to be updated?
If any organisational changes are made, the volunteer agreement needs to be reviewed to ensure that it is still accurate, and any relevant changes are reflected in the agreement for future volunteers.
