About Family Friends

Family Friends is a registered charity set up in 1993 to provide long-term practical and emotional support for families-in-need through befriending and mentoring services. We aim to help families help themselves by offering low level emotional and practical help and befriending. We recruit and train volunteers and match them to referred families (focusing either on the parent(s), adolescent, child or a group of siblings). Volunteers visit their families for two hours a week in the family's home for a period of a year. Family Friends helps disadvantaged families in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and is an Approved Provider of The Mentoring & Befriending Foundation.
